Many locals and frequent visitors consider it one of the best grocery stores on St. Croix for quality, even if some prices are a bit higher than the discount chains. They have specialty grocery items and products that can be difficult to find elsewhere on the island, including organic, gluten-free, vegan, and keto-friendly foods.

Plaza Extra East 

Plaza Extra East is also a good full-service grocery store, though their review ratings put them at 4 stars compared to Q Market's 4.7 stars. Both stores have earned those high ratings over hundreds of reviews. Plaza Extra offers a full-service bakery, deli, fresh meat counter, seafood, produce department, and hot food buffet alongside standard grocery aisles.

Cost U Less

Cost.U.Less is a warehouse-style retail store that focuses on bulk groceries, fresh foods, household essentials, and general merchandise. You can think of it as a small Costco or Sam's Club, though no membership is required. Businesses also buy here, so it can be busy during peak hours.

One thing to remember: groceries on St. Croix are noticeably more expensive than on the mainland. Imported packaged foods can be especially pricey, while buying local produce and seafood often offers better value. Don't forget to take bags with you from Soul Shine or you will need to pay for your grocery bags.

The island is rich in options for Farmer's Markets, but the key is arriving early on Saturday mornings to experience the lively island culture and secure the best seasonal harvests

before vendors sell out.

Saturday Farmer's Market

Saturday Farmer's Market offers local produce, delicious baked goods, local fruit smoothies, cooked food, and beautiful hand crafted items. It happens every Saturday on the fair grounds from 5:00 am.

La Reine Farmers' Market is also a Saturday morning mainstay of the island. They have beautiful produce, local honey and hot sauces, fresh baked goods, and the La Reine Fish Market right there too.

Southgate Corner Farmers' Market

Southgate Corner Farmers' Market is every Saturday from 9am to noon, or while supplies last. Locally grown tropical fruits, veggies, cheese, eggs, plants, and honey from the hives of local beekeeper Toni Downs (aka Queen CariBEE) are just a few of the things you can find here.
